First day of Filming - First Attempt (Hurworth Burn)

Today,Saturday 27th October, was my first planned date in shooting the scenes with the narrative. I had great difficulty achieving this as a track and dolly was needed for tracking shots however, the only track and dolly available to me for use was already booked out by another student from my college. I tried to improvise by using a wheelchair, securing the tripod and camera onto the chair and simply pushing the chair along. This, however, did not work. The surface of the ground was very bumpy, resulting in the video footage been jerky and no good for use.

To add to this problem, the weather was quite gloomy and dark. The main theme set around my video is a colourful, sunset theme. I know this is very hard to achieve, especially since I am filming during Winter, but the natural light was far too dark to make out any facial features and it made the scenery look dull and plain.

I plan to film again next Saturday, the 3rd of November. I shall check the weather forecast in advance to ensure that a necessary amount of natural light is available for me to work with. I will also, in the meantime, think of different ways to capture a tracking shot without using a track and dolly. If this is not possible, I will have to wait until I return to college on the 6th of November to book out their track and dolly to use.
